VISHNU IS A PODCAST PRODUCER & FILMMAKER.

After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin's film production program, Vishnu's thesis film SUNSHINE AND RAIN screened at New Orleans Film Festival, and Dallas International Film Festival before premiering online on DirectorsNotes, BOOMTV, & Film Shortage.

 

He worked with Justin Simien on the production of his second feature, BAD HAIR, and the third season of the Netflix show, DEAR WHITE PEOPLE. In while working with Justin, Vishnu was first introduced to audio storytelling.

 

Vishnu was the head writer and producer of the NPR podcast, DON'T @ ME, a creative conversation series with guests like Ava DuVernay, Zazie Beetz, Boots Riley, Barry Jenkins and Issa Rae.

 

Since then, Vishnu has worked for clients like Condé Nast, bringing back the Bon Appetit podcast, and Morning Brew, showrunning multiple shows across audio and visual mediums. Regardless of the medium, Vishnu sees storytelling as a practice of curiosity, intrigue, and empathy.

His most recent short, 1 OUT OF 30, was shot last summer in New York in part with the 2019 AT&T Hello Lab with Lena Waithe as the EP.

 

He was a part of New York Film Festival’s Artist Academy and he continues to write and development for audio & visual mediums.
